In 2009 Art Dumay decided to take over Foederer frame-makers in Helmond (since 1937) and in so doing continued the company’s long family history. The name was kept, of course!
The Foederer history
Foederer began as a shop selling wallpaper, paint, art and painting supplies by the brothers Theo and Jan Foederer. Staff member Eduard Hanssen took over the business in 1970. This craftsman came second in the European picture framers championship . In 1988 his son Roel Hanssen took over the framing business, and he also won several prizes for his picture framing.
So after 82 years we are still available every day to frame your work. Despite so much having changed over the years, our frame maker still works on the original table.
