The company and its team continued to expand, making the premises on the Park too small. Art Dumay decided to move to Cockeveld 4 in Nuenen, where Paul and Melanie and their team have all the space they need in a former showroom to make their dreams come true.
Both Paul and Melanie have always had an eye for the future and so they saw the potential of the internet. They therefore offered a painting by Jan Sluijters valued at 120,000 euros on the Catawiki auction website as a try-out. That was at the time very innovative in the art world, especially for an artwork such as this. This courage resulted a few years later in a close collaboration with Catawiki. Nowadays all of Art Dumay’s artworks are offered and auctioned online.
Paul and Melanie decided to leave their premises and move to the Park in Nuenen. They could accommodate both classical and modern art, and the restoration and framing studio in one space. The gallery occupied the ground floor with the picture framing on the first floor.
In 2009 Art Dumay decided to take over Foederer frame-makers in Helmond (since 1937) and in so doing continued the company’s long family history. The name was kept, of course!

The premises on the Boordseweg gradually became too small so Art Dumay expanded in 2008. A new shop was added on Parkstraat 3F. From then on people could visit the Boordseweg for classical art and restoration, and they only had to cross the road for modern art and picture framing.
Art Dumay established itself in its first official premises on the Boordseweg 2a in Nuenen. In the same year Paul’s wife Melanie decided to join the business. Her commercial background fitted in perfectly and the business saw a considerable growth.
Art Dumay was started by Paul Dumay. He gave up his first career for an independent life in the art world. He started as an art mediator but several years later he added restoration. Initially he worked from home, leading his neighbors to ask themselves where he stored all the paintings he kept loading in and out of his car.
